After reading a lot of Latin American literature, I asked a friend from Nigeria to recommend a book that would teach me about his culture. This was the book he recommended. Don’t expect it to be light and happy. This was actually quite similar to what I usually read, but such a different way of life was described. It is sad to see how the native culture is disappearing. This book also taught me one more important thing: yams are way more useful than I ever realized.
